Verbal job offers vs written

#1

How long after verbal job offer should it take to get written offer?

IF YOU GET A VERBAL OFFER FOR A POSITION, GET A WRITTEN ONE ASAP. I HAD THIS HAPPEN TO ME AND THERE WAS SO MUCH CONFUSION ABOUT WHO SAID WHAT; ESPECIALLY AFTER BEING INTERVIEWED BY 3 DIFFERENT PEOPLE. THIS WAY YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE HIRED FOR,THE PAY, HOW MUCH ORIENTATIONAND THE FLOOR YOU WILL BE WORKING ON AS WELL AS YOUR JOB DUTIES. I TAKES A LOAD OFF YOU TO HAVE EVERYTHING TOGETHER :disappointed_relieved:

That’s just what my professors always said " if it’s not in writing you didn’t do it"!!! I will NEVER forget that. I use that reminder everyday in my practice.

It is important to get a written one soon after the verbal promise. There are chances recruiters may change their mind. If you have multiple interviews followed by interview for pay negotiation then your position is secured.
