Anyone who knows about vein finder?

Has anyone seen this before?

I happened to see people using it at a hospital. Guess it is a type of vein finder in the market. Seemed like it would be helpful for blood drawing or IV injection on the elderly patients or infants, what do you think? I just wanted to share this with you guys.

Its cool but you can’t beat ultrasound guidance for venous access. That toy doesn’t show arterial flow, nerves, depth, etc. Visually it’s cool. Clinically it’s not very useful.
PS. I’m a vascular access nurse.

As a busy nurse with difficult patients, I find it very useful. There are so many healthcare professionals who seem unskilled, argumentative and jittery when it comes to drawing blood. They are usually tech’s and not Doctors or Nurses. The vein finder is truly a life saver!

I have seen it used and used it once or twice myself. Anesthesiologists and CRNAs find it helpful sometimes but not generally. I work in the operating room.
